” Oh good, it has a galley kitchen!”, is not something we hear from many of today’s home buyers given the current open concept design trend.  However, a galley design is not a drawback. On the contrary.  With ‘higher thinking’, you can have an absolutely glorious galley kitchen that will be the envy of all your neighbors. Take your all white cabinets and hood vent to new heights of at least 9′. By taking advantage of a vaulted or two story kitchen and breakfast area, you can create an illusion of the room being larger due to its sweeping ceilings.
The home chef needs all of his or her appliances and tools within reach. The galley design easily achieves this with the size of its work triangle which is one of the greatest assets of this type of  kitchen. Combining an all white color palette with minimal materials and textures can further enhance an open feel while still creating coziness and functionality. There is something to be said about a more closed concept design when it comes to the kitchen. It is the homemaker’s sacred space and a comforting place to share special moments. Whether it’s preparing a meal with your spouse or baking cookies and sharing laughs with your children, memories are sure to be made in a smartly planned kitchen that’s a pleasure to work in.
